Advertising policy
Paid content appears on some pages. This page says who pays for it, how you recognise it, and what cannot be bought here in any way.
Who pays and what they buy
The space is sold to aesthetics brands: manufacturers and distributors of products and equipment. What they buy is strictly the presence of their own creative on a group of procedures, and nothing else. They do not buy position, they do not buy visibility for a doctor, and they do not buy anything from the editorial content of the platform.
A medical services provider cannot buy the space: not a doctor, not a clinic, not through a company they own. This is what keeps the platform neutral towards the doctors it displays.
How you recognise paid content
Every third-party creative carries the label "Advertising", followed by the name of the brand on whose behalf it is displayed. The label sits on the box, visible, in the same place every time.
The platform's own content does NOT carry this label, and it matters to say why: the label means "someone paid for you to see this". Placed on an invitation from the platform, it would become noise and would stop meaning anything where it actually counts.
What advertisers cannot do
They cannot modify and cannot delete content, including reviews. Neither those concerning them, nor anyone else's.
They cannot influence how a doctor is displayed: the order of results, the position on the map, the badges and the prominence are not for sale and are not negotiable.
They cannot themselves be medical services providers, and they cannot display another medical services provider in the creative.
What a profile with a subscription gets
A profile with a subscription carries no advertising. From the first paid tier, the box disappears from the doctor's profile: it is not hidden, it is not made smaller, it no longer exists on the page.
We say this openly, here, precisely because it is a real advantage given to those who pay. An advantage a visitor has no way of finding out about is a problem; one written on a public page that every label leads to is a rule anyone can verify.
The map slots are an exception and are not switched off for anyone: the map is no doctor's profile, and the promise of a clean profile is about that profile.
Approval and affiliation
Every creative is approved manually by a person before it appears. Manual approval is not a lack of automation: whoever cannot refuse a creative cannot promise the rules above.
The platform has no material affiliation with advertisers beyond payment for the space: no commission on sales, no shareholding, no exclusivity arrangements with any brand.
When we refuse a creative
The list is short and applies the same way to everyone. Every refusal is made on one of these points, not on impression.
- The advertiser is a doctor or a clinic, directly or through their own company.
- The creative contains another medical services provider: a name, a trademark or a reference.
- The creative suggests a medical recommendation, of the kind "recommended by doctors" or "used in the practice".
